Seven Big Canoers vie for four HOA vacancies |

The individuals below have been nominated by the Homeowners Association (HOA) Nominating Committee, and will compete to fill four vacancies on the HOA Board of Directors on June 30 of this year.
Scharf has already served for one year as the replacement for John Seferian, who left the HOA Board after he was elected to the Property Owners Association Board (POA). The three-year term of Seferian/Scharf runs through June.
The other three members who are rotating off the board in June are Tom Almy, Tom Alexander and Laura Morris.
Helen Buckelew is chairman of the HOA Board, while George Thurman serves as vice chairman, Ben Collins serves as treasurer and Kay Born serves as secretary. Other members of the Board include Ron James, Carolyn Littell and Sue Hauseman.

HOA's poll fight pays off |

The HOA and all registered voters in the Amicalola District thank Board
members Tom Alexander, Ben Collins, Carl Deane, and George Thurman for
leading the effort to keep the polling place at Station #6.
They mobilized a team of determined volunteers to obtain valid
signatures for the petition that was presented to the Dawson Board of
Elections and Registration (DBE).
