'Round The Mountain is devoted exclusively to bringing you the current calendar of social events in Big Canoe for the coming six weeks. Some events are linked into the Big Canoe Community Calendars so you can set your own e-mail event reminders or import the event straight into your iCal compatible calendar (Outlook, Mozilla, etc.) or simply print it for future reference.

  • LifeLine Screening, Tuesday, May 13 at 9:00 AM in the Broyles Center.  LifeLine Screening tests for many types of health issues.  This is by appointment only.   Call 800-324-1851 to make your appointment.
  • Candidates Forum has been cancelled.  Watch for the new date in the Fall
  • Board Meeting, Tuesday, May 20 at 8:00 AM in the Board Room of the Broyles Center.
  • Symphony on the Green, Sunday, June 1 at 7:00 PM.  The DeKalb Symphony will present their annual concert on the green at the Big Canoe Golf Course. Concert begins at 7:00 PM.  Sponsored by the HOA and POA.
  • AARP Defensive Driving Course, Saturday, June 14 at 8:30 AM in the History Room of the Broyles Center.  To register, please make a check to AARP for $10/person. Put the check in an envelope. Address the envelope to Carol Coogler and place the envelope in the HOA alpha box. The course is limited to the first 35 to register. For questions, please call Carol Coogler at 706-579-1747.   BUT WAIT - there is more! For the session in June, any current AARP member can bring another person for FREE! It is a two for one deal - two drivers for $10! So, bring your AARP card and a friend to the training session.

  • Vacation Bible School , Monday through Friday, June 16 – 20 at 9:00 AM in the Chapel.  Beach Party-Surfin' Through the Scriptures is the Theme for Vacation Bible School this year. Registration will begin soon and the registration forms will be in the Chapel office

Clubs and Organizations

  • Wildflower Bunch Wonderful Wednesday, Wednesday, May 21 from 9 AM to 2 PM Tour of Amicalola Falls State Park.  Check your alpha box for more details.
  • Wildflower Bunch Garden Club, Wednesday, June 4 at 1:00 PM in the Broyles Center.  Membership ($18 annually) is open to all Big Canoe Residents.
